The Maker Series

By Reeh Al Madinah Editorial · London · 19 July 2026

Behind every new fragrance there is a person who imagined it first. For the Nasmah Collection, that person is Adnan Murad, Chief Operating Officer of Reeh Al Madinah, who flew in from Dubai to stand beside his work at the London launch.

Every perfume has a story. But behind the story there is always a person, someone who imagined the scent long before it ever reached the bottle. For the Nasmah Collection, that person is Adnan Murad.

Adnan Murad is the Chief Operating Officer of Reeh Al Madinah, and part of the next generation of the family that built it. You will rarely find him out in front of the brand. He would much rather be in the background, where the slow work happens: choosing ingredients, testing blends, and adjusting the smallest details until a fragrance feels exactly right. Yet without him, the Nasmah Collection would not exist. Every part of it, from the earliest idea to the finished bottle, carries his mark.

Growing Up Around Oud

To understand Adnan Murad, you first have to understand the house he grew up in. Reeh Al Madinah was founded in 1991 by Mr. Muradul Islam, who arrived in the United Arab Emirates from Bangladesh with almost nothing and built a respected Oud house on three values: quality, honesty and gratitude. For more than thirty years, that house has been known across the Gulf for sourcing some of the finest Oud in the world, and for testing every batch by hand.

Adnan Murad was raised in that world. He grew up surrounded by rare woods and rich Arabian scents, watching his elders treat fragrance as something to be respected, never rushed. That respect stayed with him. But he also noticed something else: a new generation who loved beautiful perfume, yet wanted it in a lighter, more modern, more wearable form. He wanted to bring those two worlds together.

The Idea Behind Nasmah

Nasmah grew out of that wish. The idea was simple to say, but hard to do: keep the soul of the family's heritage, and wrap it in something fresh, easy to wear and beautiful to hold. Something a young person in London could reach for as happily as a longtime customer in the Gulf.

Adnan Murad knew that a good idea is only the start. The real test is in the making. So he set out to build each fragrance slowly and carefully, with no shortcuts.

Chosen With Pure Care

This is where Adnan Murad is at his best. For the new collection, he searched far and wide for the right materials: the right rose, the right woods, the right spice, the right note of coffee or tea. He gathered fine ingredients from many different places, because he believed the collection deserved nothing less. Then came the testing. Blend after blend, he adjusted and refined, and nothing was approved until it felt complete.

Every note in Nasmah is there on purpose.

You can smell that care across the five new Eau de Parfum, and no two of them feel alike. Café Fire is the gourmand of the group, roasted coffee and caramel with a curl of smoke on the finish. Citraya Musk pulls in the opposite direction: bright, clean, a rush of citrus that softens into green tea. Tobacco Matcha is the one people find hardest to describe. It is earthy and a little smoky, the sort of scent that makes you slow down. Spécila keeps things classic, with rose settling over smooth woods, while Winter's Love goes furthest of all, with deep Oud, Turkish rose and a touch of leather, made for cold nights.

Five fragrances, five very different moods, and one person behind every one of them.

A Proud Day in London

On Sunday 19 July 2026, Adnan Murad's quiet work finally met its audience. Reeh Al Madinah launched the five new Nasmah Eau de Parfum at a live event at the Docklands Sailing and Watersports Centre in East London, with champion boxer Hamza Uddin as guest of honour. Adnan Murad flew in from Dubai just to be there, and he stood with his family as guests lifted the bottles he had spent so long perfecting.

It was a proud day for the whole family, and a special one for Adnan Murad. For him, though, the real reward is much simpler. It is the moment someone lifts a bottle, sprays it, and smiles. That is what all the searching and testing was for. Behind every Nasmah fragrance is a quiet man who cared about every detail, so that you would only ever have to think about how it makes you feel.

The Nasmah Collection is available now.
